Our jewelry is as unique as you, one of a kind. The entries on this site will give you a window into the inner workings of our studio. B. Liles Studio casts, fabricates, enamels, engraves and redesigns your jewelry from start to finish on the premises. The same artisans who make our jewelry are your salespeople in the 1900’s restored cottage in a revived historical district at 215 West Jackson St. in Olde Towne Ridgeland.
Mar 20, 2008 Grand opening week. March 27 will be our Grand Opening reception from 4-8p. The new gallery is looking more like home every day. It is so nice to have everything under one roof. Please look at the show schedule to see our jewelry in other locations for spring art shows: Cleveland, Oxford, Tupelo, Baton Rouge Mar 18, 2008 Congratulations to Anne Brunson and Cecile Bartlett for becoming members of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi! Both are jewelers. Anne works with me making fine jewelry for B. Liles Studio. Cecile has studio space here and works for herself selling through B. Liles Studio and the Mississippi Museum of Art.
Jan 8, 2008 Oh my time flies. Please look below for renovation photos. Soon all will be revealed.
Dec 14, 2007 We celebrated two birthdays this week...very good cake to go with the overabundance of coffee that is always available this time of year to fuel Christmas orders. Progress on the new showroom is coming along...we are currently taking bets on whether Dec 21 will be the completion date.
Dec 6, 2007 Chimneyville was a truly wonderful show! So much beautiful artwork under one roof is amazing. Speaking of roofs...our new roof should be on soon in addition to paint, new showroom, too many things to mention. I will post some pictures soon to show work in progress.
Dec 4, 2007 Art jewelry is a highly personal creation, and as such an artists creative style is much like a finger print. This may be a news flash to some, but imitation is not flattery. It feels like theft.
Nov 25, 2007 Time flies. Handworks was last week Nov 16 & 17, it was well attended and we were able to advertise our shop and anticipated move. This week has us preparing for Chimneyville Art Festival, the annual Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi event held the first full weekend of December at the Trade Mart on High Street here in Jackson, MS. The preview party will be Nov 30 from 7p-10p. Sat. Dec 1 hours are 10a-6p, and Sunday Dec 2 hours are 12 noon - 5p. Preparing for this while our studio is turned upside down with renovations has been a real challenge. Also during this busy week B. Liles Studio will host a trunk show for Chauvin, a jewelry line created by Jane Johnston. Her one of a kind and limited edition jewelry has been collected by jewelry aficionados from all over the country and beyond. Jane's work will be available Thursday Nov 29 - Saturday Dec from 11a-5p and Sunday Dec 2 1p-4p. Please come and shop with us at 206 W. Jackson St. in Olde Towne Ridgeland. We are currently researching camcorders and video editing software to bring video clips to this blog, so if you have any suggestions, ideas, advice, please email me at bliles1@comcast.net .
Nov 11,2007 Construction continues on our renovation project at 215 W. Jackson St. in Ridgeland, MS. This building was purchased in 2006 and renovated to house our production studio while our sales gallery operated at 206 W. Jackson St. We are in the process of adding a showroom so that the entire operation will be under one roof. The new parking lot is in and work is underway with landscaping. The gallery is shaping up with beautiful new windows, doors and a vaulted ceiling exposing wonderful old wood beams. We will continue serving customers from our current building at 206 W. Jackson St. until January 2008. Stay tuned...
March 2006 This photo was taken after preliminary renovations had been done in early 2006. To bring the property up to commercial code plumbing, electrical, foundation and exterior work were done. January 2006 215 W. Jackson St. in all of it's glory the day it was purchased. Neglected for too long, it soon became a beehive of activity. March 2006 The carport and main entry looking good after the first round of renovation. This studio space housed B. Liles Studio and studios for two other jewelers and two painters. January 2008 The newly enclosed, previous carport, will house gallery space. Our new colors are a soft beige and cream, not quite finished painting, but we couldn't wait to take this picture. January 2008 A close-up view of the interior of the new gallery showing the exposed rough hewn timbers, crystal chandelier and pressed tin walls and ceiling. Work is still underway, but we are getting closer. January 2006 The small workshop next to the main studio soon after purchase. It was used as a casting studio until..... September 2007 The demolition crew made short work of the casting studio. This cleared the path for commercial parking. We were sad to see it go, but the new parking is lovely! More pictures will be posted in the next weeks as construction winds down and we move the gallery.
